Information overload.

It’s something we want to avoid in our concept illustrations.

Our audience's time, attention span, and ability to understand what we show them are limited. We must realize this and craft concept illustrations that don’t overload, but rather stimulate, the conversation.

So, how do we avoid information overload?

⏳ Don’t show more product ideas or features than our audience has the time and attention to discuss.

🧠 Don’t show more detail or complexity than our audience will be able to digest.

🥴 Don’t disorient our audience with too many views or annotations.

🗣️ Don’t show features we don’t want to spend time discussing.

🧐 Don’t expect our audience to understand or care about our concepts as much as we do.

Illustrations that are focused and considerate of our audience’s time, attention, and imagination will stimulate good discussion, getting us more valuable feedback.
